Samples of a visual system and architecture I created for the About.com Redesign. One of the unique attributes of About.com's visual system was a custom base layer system I created to inform various grids on the site.
The base layer system aimed to facilitate multiple grid formations using a 42px-base approach. The primary reason was to effectively display multiple forms of advertising placements on the website such as Google AFC and Display 336px IAB standard units.
