Role: Art Director, Photographer, Editor

Innerphase was an online publication I created and ran from 2004 to 2007. It was extremely engaging where I played several roles: art directing, managing a pub operation & becoming a journalist. The site itself was a media success, earning respect and face time with first rate international DJs and artists. Doing the site offered me many connections into the dance music world. What amazed me most was the appreciation others had for the design I was producing.

Below is a snapshot of the site that ran exclusively on a custom PHP CMS I produced.

Promotion Material: Standard flyers we handed out at shows and events

Article Design: The fantastic journey through Innerphase was literally giving life to every artist and DJ article put on the site. Here are samples of different features we ran.

Video Interviews: I produced several videos where Innerphase had journalists come and sit with DJs, usually right before they performed that night. Video production was conducted by Innerphase contractors as well as post production. Click on a number below to hear some sample interviews.

Wearables: Every DJ needs a great hat. Wristbands were next, but we ran out of cash!

Flash Streaming Webcast: We took park in a fantastic partnership with Crobar to create a live club webcast event via Vital Stream. This was the first of its kind at Crobar. I have to admit, there were legal and technical challenges, but we did manage to get everything up and running that night. I give credit to my former partner, Mike Whitmore, who provided the development and great house beats.

Photography: One of the larger events I did photo journalism for was Ultra.NY in 2006 at Summer Stage. This was a brilliant event, hearing various reactions from DJs, locals and of course, those crazy europeans.
